About Our Luxury Guanacaste Vacation Rentals

We decided to make a change from our busy lifestyles back in 2018 after I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Both of us come from demanding careers—I worked in the film and TV industry, often working 12 to 18-hour days, while Billy is a musician. Once I became ill, our lives changed completely.

It took us a few years to research and decide where we wanted to move. During my cancer treatment, COVID-19 hit, and unexpectedly, we also found out we were pregnant—despite being told we couldn’t have children. The pregnancy was filled with complications, but we ended up with our miracle child, whom we named Phoenix, symbolizing our rise from the ashes of cancer treatments and COVID.

After our son was born, we wanted to move somewhere where he could run outside, play freely, enjoy abundant sunshine, and be safe. Safety was our top priority, and Costa Rica called to us. It’s been a long journey, but now we’re feeling much better, and our son is thriving in the vibrant Costa Rican culture. We’re thrilled that he is fully bilingual.

We came here for a fresh start. Our homes are newly built after three years of effort, and we’re excited to offer them as rentals. We also embarked on this venture with my brother, who loves the idea of living here someday as well.

One house is named after our son—Casa Fénix—and the other after my brother’s children—Casa Carlayna. Our hope is to someday leave these homes for them and to explore all that Costa Rica has to offer. When we first visited, we considered two areas but ultimately fell in love with Potrero, Guanacaste. We adore it here—the locals are some of the nicest people we’ve ever met. We are in Potrero center, close to great restaurants, grocery stores, live music, and beaches.
